olga ingurazova
I was born in 1985 in Moscow. I'm a freelance documentary photographer with a background in international relations and economics based in Moscow, Russia. After years of working in tourist industry, I quit and took a photojournalism course in Lomonosov Moscow State University. At the same time I started to look for any kind of assignments from small local newspapers just to get any possible experience. I was making reportages about cat exhibitions and once even carrying out a photo investigation against a local sex maniac.

My first serious works as a freelancer were reportages on Syrian refugees in the Caucasus and on a Serbian enclave in the Albanian part of Kosovo. I began my career by documenting post-conflict recovery and the aftermath of separatist movements in the Caucasus. Currently I'm focused on personal long-term projects, and in the center of my attention are effects of political, social and environmental processes on people's lives and the land they inhabit. A long-term project I'm working on for the last two years "Scars of Independence" is documenting a post-conflict recovery and the aftermath of separatist movements in the Caucasus.

I always was an emotional person and I was never good at ignorance. All my stories are about human experience. Exploring through photography it's my way to answer my own questions and to face my own fears.
